Small residential aged care facility (60 beds) Upper Beaconsfield, VIC
A heritage-listed 60-bed facility in the Dandenong Ranges, offers respite and permanent care. The new extension features 30 climate-controlled rooms, luxury amenities and bushfire refuge. Serene courtyards and specialised support for dementia care.
Our Salisbury House in Beaconsfield Upper is a beautiful mixture of the old and new. Its façade is heritage listed from its original beginnings as a country guest house for the residents of Melbourne, hosting travellers from interstate and overseas, and indeed for a time used by servicemen during World War 2 whilst on leave. Originally established in 1888, guests could play tennis (now the site of the new extension) or play croquet on the front lawn where our residents can still enjoy these activities today!
Our original building, while renovated, still incorporates many ornate fixtures and arches of a bygone era, paying respect to a time that is well known by our residents and attracts many local community members. Our new state-of-the-art extension has 30 single, individually climate-controlled bedrooms, several lounge and dining areas, and balconies with seating areas to enjoy magnificent views, extending from Arthur’s Seat on the Mornington Peninsula to Western Port Bay, French Island, and all places in between. This extension features luxury appointments and interior-designed décor.
The most significant feature of this new extension is the bushfire refuge, capable of holding over 120 people should a significant fire event occur. Our fire safety features include a fire sprinkler pump, fire retardant materials, Cevalar fire curtains, metal shutters, a dedicated diesel power generator, and more, ensuring the protection of our residents, guests, and staff. This is an essential consideration when residing within the hills.
