The Mary Damian residence supports ‘ageing in place’, meaning it can support a range of high and low care needs, without people needing to move. The facility also provides specialised care for people ageing with intellectual and other disabilities.
Our philosophy of care supports integration of residents with dementia within mainstream aged care and the service welcomes residents with dementia and people ageing with intellectual disability.
We believe that resident life and personal outcomes are significantly improved through:
- maintaining social networks
- supporting the normal activities of daily living
- implementing individual programs that focus on capacity
Specific dementia programs, staff training and building design support and promote resident growth, independence and choice.
