Hawthorn Grange is owned by Iris Aged Care- a privately owned family residential style, aged care facility. We have been proudly servicing Hawthorn community for over 20 years. Our home has 52 rooms with their own private ensuite. We offer both low and high level medical care from registered nurses, allied health and qualified permanent aged care staff;

At Hawthorn Grange, the overall mental and physical wellness of residents is our top priority. The varied services offered to residents by our facility include short and long term stay with:

• Registered nurse on 24 hours /7 days
• Permanent care staff (no agency)
• Coded keypad entrance/exit,
• Couples accommodation available
• All rooms have their own ensuite,
• We offer lifestyle and social programs,
• Respite services
• We also have a dedicated dementia care
• Onsite Chef preparing fresh meals daily

Personal Care Services

Our residents are given both a strong sense of dignity and respectful independence by our quality team of staff. All our care staff are employed by Hawthorn Grange. We do not have agency staff. This means care staff at this facility get to know the residents closely to work to improve day-to-day life in whatever way they require, whether it’s eating and drinking, dressing or hygiene care, or a simple matter of mobility. This is all done with a high degree of patience, caring and an understanding of each and every resident.

Food and nutrition at Hawthorn Grange

Hawthorn Grange comes with their own in-house Chef that prepares daily freshly meals. We guarantee the best in taste and range. If there are any dietary concerns our substantial menu can be adapted to fit any needs. If desired you may have your meal in your room or socialise with the other Hawthorn residents in the communal dining room.

Why choose Hawthorn Grange

We are regarded as one of Hawthorns established aged care home. We achieved this through forging long term relationships with our community including the local GPs, hospitals and residents. We have long standing community know how.

As a privately funded facility, we do not charge a Basic Daily Fee, Bond, RAD or DAP. Only a fixed weekly fee - to cover all the care, meals, allied health, lifestyle programs for 24 hour /7 days. No ACAS assessment is required prior to admission (from hospital discharge).

Our facility is seen as a private home and eligible clients can bring their home care package with them. This can help offset the care fees.

Hawthorn Grange residents view the facility as their own home. This comes as a result of securing warm ties with our residents, their friends and their families.

While health and happiness is the main aim at our residence this is never fully possible without a focus on community well-being too.

COVID - precautions

We understand that the impacts of COVID, isolation and restrictions can make us feel anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed. The wellbeing of of our staff, residents and their loved ones is front of mind at all times. All our care staff have undertaken the (COVID-19) Safety at Work training program. All staff employed at Hawthorn Grange staff have been vaccinated with the COVID vaccine.
